Invitatory

Lord, open my lips, *
and my mouth will proclaim Your praise.

Antiphon
Ant.

The King who is to come, it's the Lord. Come, let us adore him.

Come, let us sing praise to the LORD. *
Shout with joy to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us enter His presence with a song of thanksgiving, *
    singing joyful songs to Him.

[ANT]

For the LORD is a great God, *
and the great king above all gods.
In His hand are the depths of the earth, *
and the mountain peaks are His also.
The sea is His for He made it, *
the dry land His hands formed.

[ANT]

Come, let us bow down and worship. *
LORDus kneel before the LORD our maker,
for He is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, *
and the flock of His hand.

[ANT]

Today, will you hear His voice?
"Do not harden your hearts, *
as at Meribah and during the temptation in the wilderness,
where your ancestors tested and provoked Me, *
although they were witness to My work."

[ANT]

"Forty years that generation disgusted me",
and I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, *
and they do not know my ways."
So I swore in my anger, *
"Never shall they enter into My rest."

[ANT]

Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,
    and will be forever.
Amen
Alleluia

Jerusalem, rejoice * with great joy! For your Savior is coming, alleluia.

The LORD says to my master, *
    "Sit at my right hand,
and I will make your enemies *
into a footstool for your feet."

From Zion, the LORD will extend your mighty scepter's reach, saying, *
"Rule in the midst of your enemies."

On the day of your power, your people will follow you,
    in your holy splendor, *
"With the breaking of dawn, your youth comes to you like the dew."

The LORD swore an irrevocable oath, *
"You are a priest always, in the order of King Melchizedek."

On your right is my master, *
who will crush rulers on the day of his wrath.

He will drink from the brook along his way; *
therefore he will lift up his head.

Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,

Great Works of the Lord
·
UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

Every Mountain and hill * will be lowered, winding rough ways made straight and smooth. Come Lord, don't delay, alleluia!

I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, *
in the council of the upright and the assembly.
Great are the works of the Lord, *
sought out by all who delight in them.
Glorious and majestic is His work, *
    and His justice endures forever.

He has caused His wonders to be remembered; *
the LORD is gracious and compassionate.
He gives food to those who fear Him; *
    He remembers His covenant forever.

He has shown His people the power of His works
by giving them the inheritance of nations. *
The works of His hands are truth and justice.
All His precepts are trustworthy,
standing firm forever and ever, *
    made with uprightness and truth.
He has sent redemption to His people, *
    establishing His covenant forever.

Holy and awe-inspiring is His name. *
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.
All those who embody this have good understanding; *
    their praise endures forever.

My Soul Magnifies
·
UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

Are you * the one who is coming, or are we waiting for another? Tell John what you saw: the blind see, the dead rise, and the Gospel is proclaimed to the poor, alleluia.

My soul magnifies the greatness of the Lord; *
my spirit bursts, rejoicing in God my Savior.
For He knew the humility of His servant. *
From today all generations will call me blessed.

The Almighty has done great things for me, *
    and holy is His name.

He has mercy for those who fear Him, *
    from generation to generation.
He has shown the strength of His arm, *
and scattered the proud for the thoughts of their hearts.

He has torn the mighty from their thrones, *
    and lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, *
and sent the rich away empty.

He has given help to His servant Israel, *
and remembered His promise of mercy.
The promise made to our ancestors, *
to Abraham and His children forever.

Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,

    and will be forever.

Intercessory Prayers of Petition

Let us invite Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, who is the way, the truth, and the life, saying:
Come, Lord, and stay with us!
Jesus, Son of the Most High, who was announced to the Virgin Mary by the angel Gabriel,
    – come reign over Your people forever.
Come, Lord, and stay with us!
You, Holy of God, for whom Your Forerunner leapt for joy in Elizabeth's womb,
    – come and give the joy of salvation to the whole universe.
Come, Lord, and stay with us!
Jesus the Savior, an angel revealed Your name to the righteous man Joseph,
    – come save Your people from their sins.
Come, Lord, and stay with us!
Light of the World, awaited for by Simeon and all the righteous,
    – come comfort us.
Come, Lord, and stay with us!
Star from on High, unfading light, whose coming Zechariah foretold,
    – come shine upon all those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death.
Come, Lord, and stay with us!

Lords Prayer

Our Father, who is in heaven,
    hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come,
    Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil;
for the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are Yours without end.
Amen

Concluding Prayer

God, you see that your people faithfully prepare to celebrate the birth of your Son. In waiting, focus our joy onto the everlasting salvation to come. * That we may celebrate our salvation with joyous new hearts. Through Jesus Christ.

May the Lord bless us,
    keep us from all evil,
and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen
