My soul ✛ magnifies the greatness of the Lord; *
    my spirit bursts, rejoicing in God my Savior.
For He knew the humility of His servant. *
    From today all generations will call me blessed.

The Almighty has done great things for me, *
    and holy is His name.

He has mercy for those who fear Him, *
    from generation to generation.
He has shown the strength of His arm, *
    and scattered the proud for the thoughts of their hearts.

Intercessory Prayers of Petition

Let us pray with confidence to our Savior. To Him who was miraculously transfigured on the mountain. In the sight of the disciples:
    Illuminate our darkness, You our God!
Christ, with Your transfiguration, You revealed to the disciples Your resurrection before You climbed Your cross. We pray to You for Your holy Church, which is struggling in the world:
    – in its failures, may it be transfigured by the joy of Your victory.
    Illuminate our darkness, You our God!
Christ, who took Peter, James, and John with him. He led them up a tall mountain alone. We pray to You for the leaders of Your Church:
    – that they minister to Your people with the hope of the resurrection.
    Illuminate our darkness, You our God!
Christ, who upon that mountain shone Your face upon Moses and Elijah. We pray to You for all who have not known the illumination of Your word and way:
    – that they may share with us in the fullness of redemption.
    Illuminate our darkness, You our God!
Christ, who illuminated the earth when the glory of the Creator arose upon You. We pray to You for all who are transforming bad into good:
    – that they may walk in Your light.

Concluding Prayer

God, in the Transfiguration of your Christ, your only Begotten Son, you strengthened the gift of faith. You miraculously called us your adopted children. † Upon hearing your beloved Son's voice, give us the hope * that we are truly coheirs with him. Through Him who reigns.
