Christ the Lord, promised us the Holy Spirit. Come, let us worship Him. Alleluia

For the LORD is a great God, *
and the great King above all gods.
In His hand are the depths of the earth, *
and the mountain peaks are His as well.
The sea is His for He made it, *
His hands formed the dry land.

Antiphon
Ant.

Christ the Lord, promised us the Holy Spirit. Come, let us worship Him. Alleluia

Today, will you hear His voice?

where your ancestors tested and provoked Me, *
although they were witness to My work."

Antiphon

Christ the Lord, promised us the Holy Spirit. Come, let us worship Him. Alleluia

"Never shall they enter into My rest."

When the day * of Pentecost arrived, they were all together, singing: Alleluia.

The LORD says to my master, *
    "Sit at my right hand,
and I will make your enemies *
into a footstool for your feet."

From Zion, the LORD will extend your mighty scepter's reach, saying, *
"Rule in the midst of your enemies."

On the day of your power, your people will follow you,
    in your holy splendor, *
"With the breaking of dawn, your youth comes to you like the dew."

The LORD swore an irrevocable oath, *
"You are a priest always, in the order of King Melchizedek."

On your right is my master, *
who will crush rulers on the day of his wrath.

He will drink from the brook along his way; *
therefore he will lift up his head.

Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,

Israel Freed from Egypt

UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

The Spirit of the Lord * fills creation, alleluia.

When Israel came out of Egypt, *
Jacob's children from a foreign people,
Judah became God's sanctuary, *
    and Israel became his dominion.

The sea flees at their sight; *
the Jordan turns back to its source.
The mountains leap like rams, *
    and the hills like lambs.

Why was it, sea, that you fled, *
Jordan, that you returned to your source,
the mountains, that you leaped like rams, *
    and the hills like lambs?

Tremble, earth, before the Lord, *
    before the God of Jacob,
who turned the rock into pools of water, *
and made waters spring forth from flint.

Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,
    and will be forever.

Reading

An Epistle to the Church in Ephesus 4:3-6

Strive to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit. Just as you were called in one hope by your spiritual calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God, and Father of all. Who is over all, through all, and in all.

Gospel Canticle

My Soul Magnifies
·
UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

Today * is the day of Pentecost, alleluia. Today the Holy Spirit appeared to the disciples like fire, and poured out upon them gifts from his grace. He sent them throughout creation to proclaim this testimony: All who believe and are baptized will be saved, alleluia!

My soul magnifies the greatness of the Lord; *
my spirit bursts, rejoicing in God my Savior.
For He knew the humility of His servant. *
From today all generations will call me blessed.

The Almighty has done great things for me, *
    and holy is His name.

He has mercy for those who fear Him, *
    from generation to generation.
He has shown the strength of His arm, *
and scattered the proud for the thoughts of their hearts.

He has torn the mighty from their thrones, *
    and lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, *
and sent the rich away empty.

He has given help to His servant Israel, *
and remembered His promise of mercy.
The promise made to our ancestors, *
to Abraham and His children forever.

Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,
    and will be forever.

Intercessory Prayers of Petition

Through Christ, God our Father has gathered together the Church. With joy let us pray, saying:
Send Your Holy Spirit onto the Church!
You want to gather, through one baptism in the Spirit, all those who exalt the name of Christ,
    – grant believers to be of one heart and one soul.
Send Your Holy Spirit onto the Church!
You who desire the Spirit to fill the world,
    – help all people build justice and peace within creation.
Send Your Holy Spirit onto the Church!
Lord God, Father of all, You want to gather together all Your scattered children, in unity of faith,
    – illuminating the universe by the grace of the Holy Spirit.
Send Your Holy Spirit onto the Church!
By Your Spirit, You renew all things,
    – heal the sick, comfort the afflicted, and to all, give salvation.
Send Your Holy Spirit onto the Church!
By the Spirit, You raised Your Son from the dead,
    – likewise, raise our bodies from dust to eternal life.
Send Your Holy Spirit onto the Church!

Lords Prayer

Our Father, who is in heaven,
    hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come,
    Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil;
for the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are Yours without end.
Amen

Concluding Prayer

Lord, today we celebrate the mystery of Pentecost. Through the Spirit, you sanctify your Church amongst all peoples from all nations. Holy Spirit generously pour your gifts and presence into all of creation. Continue the glorious proclamations spoken in many tongues when the Spirit was first poured out. * Keep tenderly touching the hearts of all believers. Inviting them to work alongside the Spirit for your eternal Kingdom of love. Through Jesus Christ.

Blessing

May the Lord bless us,
    keep us from all evil,
and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen
