An Invitation to Praise God

Psalm 95
·
UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

Come, together we'll exault the Lord.

Come, let us sing praise to the LORD. *
Shout with joy to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us enter His presence with a song of thanksgiving, *
    singing joyful songs to Him.

Antiphon
Ant.

Come, together we'll exault the Lord.

For the LORD is a great God, *
and the great King above all gods.
In His hand are the depths of the earth, *
and the mountain peaks are His as well.
The sea is His for He made it, *
His hands formed the dry land.

Antiphon
Ant.

Come, together we'll exault the Lord.

Come, let us bow down and worship. *
LORDus kneel before the LORD our maker,
for He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, *
and the flock of His hand.

Antiphon
Ant.

Come, together we'll exault the Lord.

Today, will you hear His voice?
"Do not harden your hearts, *
as at Meribah and during the temptation in the wilderness,
where your ancestors tested and provoked Me, *
although they were witness to My work."

Antiphon
Ant.

Come, together we'll exault the Lord.

"Forty years that generation disgusted Me",
and I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, *
and they do not know My ways."
So I swore in My anger, *
"Never shall they enter into My rest."

Antiphon
Ant.

Come, together we'll exault the Lord.

Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,
    and will be forever.
Amen
Alleluia

Psalmody

Jerusalem, The Holy City

Psalm 122
·
UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

May peace reign * within your walls.

I was glad when they said to me, *
"LORDus go to the house of the LORD."
Our feet are standing *
    within your gates, Jerusalem.

Jerusalem, you are built as a city *
    that is firmly bound together.
The tribes go up to you, the tribes of the LORD, *
as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD.
For there the thrones of judgement were set, *
the thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, *
"May those who love you prosper.
May peace reign within your walls, *
    and prosperity within your palaces."

For the sake of my family and friends, *
I will say, "May peace reign within you."
For the sake of the House of the LORD our God, *
    I will seek your good.

Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,
    and will be forever.
Amen
Alleluia

I Cried from the Depths

Psalm 130
·
UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

All of me * waits for the Lord and I hope in His word.

Out of the depths, I cried to You, LORD, *
    Lord, hear my voice.
Let Your ears be attentive *
    to my cry for mercy.

If You, LORD, kept an account of our wrongs, *
    Lord, who could stand?
But with You, there is forgiveness, *
so that You may be revered.

I wait for the LORD, all of me waits, *
and in His word I put my hope.
My soul waits in hope for the LORD, *
more than the night watch waits for the dawn.
Yes, more than the night watch waits for the dawn, *
    Israel, wait for the LORD.

For with the LORD there is mercy, *
and with Him redemption in abundance.
And He will redeem Israel *
    from all their wrongs.

Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,
    and will be forever.
Amen
Alleluia

The Song of Christ's Glory

Philippians 2:6-11
·
UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

The Lord exalted * Him to the highest place, and gave Him the name above every other.

Christ Jesus, who was in the form of God, *
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped.
He instead emptied Himself by taking the form of a servant
and being born in human likeness. *
    Being found in human form,
He humbled Himself
by becoming obedient to death, *
    even death on a cross.

For this reason, God exalted Him
    to the highest place *
and gave Him the name above every name.
So that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, *
in heaven, on the earth, and under the earth.
And every tongue will confess *
"Jesus Christ is Lord!" to the glory of God the Father.

Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,
    and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now,
    and will be forever.
Amen
Alleluia

Reading

The Second Epistle of Peter 1:19-21

So we have the prophetic word made more sure. A word which you do well to pay attention to, like a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. But above all, know this. No prophecy of Scripture came to be out of the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy was never made by an act of human will, but people spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Brief Response

From the rising until the setting of the sun, praise the name of the LORD.
From the rising until the setting of the sun, * praise the name of the LORD.
His glory is above the heavens,
From the rising until the setting of the sun, * praise the name of the LORD.
Glory to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
From the rising until the setting of the sun, * praise the name of the LORD.

Gospel Canticle

My Soul Magnifies

Luke 1:46-55
·
UMB-EN
Antiphon
Ant.

A good tree cannot bear * bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.

My soul magnifies the greatness of the Lord; *
my spirit bursts, rejoicing in God my Savior.
For He knew the humility of His servant. *
From today all generations will call me blessed.

The Almighty has done great things for me, *
    and holy is His name.

He has mercy for those who fear Him, *
    from generation to generation.
He has shown the strength of His arm, *
and scattered the proud for the thoughts of their hearts.

He has torn the mighty from their thrones, *
    and lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, *
and sent the rich away empty.

He has given help to His servant Israel, *
and remembered His promise of mercy.
The promise made to our ancestors, *
to Abraham and His children forever.

Gloria

Glory to the Father, to the Son,

As it was in the beginning, is now,
    and will be forever.
